Videos Galore

As promised here is video of the baby rolling over. He's gotten really good at it but once he's done he doesn't necessarily like being stuck on his tummy. He'll be much happier when he can also roll from his belly to his back.

I tried to get some more video of him rolling, but he was content to stay on his back. He's playing with his new bunny from Grandma and Grandpa Jones. Thank you!

As soon as I stopped filming he rolled over and I got the last bit of it.

He's not content with sitting still anymore, but he's frustrated at his limited mobility. Now that he has a taste of moving around he can't get enough of it. So to get a little more exercise I threw him in the tub so he could kick to his hearts content.

I have to report that the nights here have been a lot better. Great in fact. Now that he can roll he is able to sleep on his belly. He has always been a good sleeper, it was just a hard transition from him sleeping in the boppy to now him being able to sleep on his stomach. For about a month he just couldn't sleep because he kept waking himself up. We are back on track and getting a lot more sleep!

4 Months Old

Its an awful lot of orange clothing for one small boy.


And....yesterday he rolled over for the first time! TA DAA. He always has this look on his face when he gets on his belly. I'll try to get some video of him rolling over soon.


The nights here have been rough. He's reverted back to a newborn, up every hour on the hour. We are really having a hard time adjusting since Kirby's been gone. He doesn't want to sleep on his back, or his side, or his belly. He doesn't want to sleep in his crib, in the pack n play or in the bed. He wants to be held, which is not working at all. I've got to figure something out, before I lose it. I need some zzzleep. But I guess that's what coffee is for.

Movie Review Monday

For Your Consideration





I'm not a HUGE Christopher Guest fan, in that I don't love love love everything he does, however Best in Show and This is Spinal Tap are two of my favorite movies. That being said the best word to describe this film is simply unfunny. How can so many funny people come together and not say or do one funny thing? Even an appearance by Ricky Gervais didn't help at all. I give this move a big SKIP IT. Go rent Best in Show and hope that Guest's next offering will have a little more zing to it.





No Country For Old Men





First of all I'm immediately suspicious of any movie winning the Oscar for Best Film. I think back to some glorious pieces of garbage that won, Million Dollar Baby and Babel, both of which were in my estimation the worst movies I have ever seen....ever. Unfortunately this Best Film for 2007 is no exception. Again, I love a lot of the Coen brothers work and come on, if you know me, you know that I love The Big Lebowski. I base most of my opinions of people on whether or not they like the "Dude". However this movie is a bust. It starts out pretty good, but about half way through it just stops going anywhere and you just stop caring. I think Josh Brolin did an excellent job, but Javier Bardem (who won best supporting actor) was the weakest of all. Here's a movie review I found that sums up what I think, in a more eloquent professional way. I give this movie a moderate SKIP IT.

The Business of Being Born



WOW. That's all I can say. This little documentary riveted me to my toes. It takes a hard look at birth in America and where we've gone wrong. While some may say its pretty one sided, focusing on home birth and midwives, it does offer some pretty interesting statistics and facts. It sums up everything I was thinking while I was doing research in preparation for my own birth. This is a total must see for anyone pregnant or ever thinking about having a baby. You can watch it on demand on Netflix if you have Netflix. I give this movie a huge DON'T MISS IT.

Sickness, Projects, and of course Pictures

I woke up last Saturday feeling like I'd been run over by a truck. Achy legs, sore throat, headache, no appetite, the works. I called my mom to come down and help me, she'd been planning on coming down soon anyway, but this was a good excuse for her to drop everything and come see her baby (Oliver, not me) So she came the next day and really helped me with the baby while I recovered. The baby didn't get sick thankfully he just sounded a little congested at one point and had some extra big boogers. How do you get out baby boogers? They drive me crazy!

While she was here we worked on some handmade baby gifts. One thing we made was a diaper cake for my friend Cathie whose babyshower is at the end of this month. Her baby Alexander William will be here in May. If you are wondering what a diaper cake is, here's a picture.

I also had my mom take some pictures of me and the baby, since I was getting requests for some pictures of me on the site (by Kirby) I call these our "Welcome Spring" pictures.

The baby is growing so fast. He's 25 inches long and 14.2 lbs. That's five inches longer than he was at birth and twice the weight. He is really becoming a big boy!

Oliver has been playing up a storm. He loves to grab at things and try to get them in his mouth. He's not very succesful yet, but he'll get there.

Look at his blurry hands, he's moving them at an incredible rate of speed.







I guess Dozy has noticed the baby holding things too because he's started bringing him his toys in hopes that he will play fetch with him. Dozy brought him the froggy and Oliver tried to eat it. Its going to be increasingly hard to keep the dog toys and the baby toys seperated.


Oliver is also really loving bath time. The splashing is his favorite.






My mom and dad came to visit last week and helped me out with some projects around the house. One project was planting a couple trees, they look like sticks right now but one day they will be big and beautiful.
