Play Time, Bath Time, and Around the House

Oliver has been playing up a storm. He loves to grab at things and try to get them in his mouth. He's not very succesful yet, but he'll get there.

His new tummy time mat

Look at his blurry hands, he's moving them at an incredible rate of speed.

I guess Dozy has noticed the baby holding things too because he's started bringing him his toys in hopes that he will play fetch with him. Dozy brought him the froggy and Oliver tried to eat it. Its going to be increasingly hard to keep the dog toys and the baby toys seperated.

Oliver is also really loving bath time. The splashing is his favorite.

My mom and dad came to visit last week and helped me out with some projects around the house. One project was planting a couple trees, they look like sticks right now but one day they will be big and beautiful.

I'm also excited about my herb plants, basil and rosemary. They both smell so delicious.

Toothbrushes

When I buy new toothbrushes for me and Kirby, I always buy a pink one and a blue one. That way all the confusion is cleared up and I don't have to say, yours is the red one and mine is the green one. Then a few months later, yours is purple and mine is yellow. I try to keep it simple, pink for the girl and blue for the boy.
During the day its easy to think that Kirby is at work, I go about my day and don't think much about him being really gone. But then I go to brush my teeth and there in the cup is the lone pink toothbrush. No blue one in sight. I am reminded of how he isn't just at work, he's really far away and will be for a long time. Long enough that he needed to take his toothbrush with him. I never realized how comforting seeing those two toothbrushes together was. And how hard it would be to see his missing. Weird how a toothbrush could be a metaphor for life, but here I am, a little pink toothbrush with no blue one to keep me company in the cup.
On a slightly less deep note, I'm sort of surprised he even took his toothbrush with him. He has notoriously bad brushing habits. But I love him anyway:)

Two Month Pictures

Our little baby bear has reached and passed the two month mark! Its a short amount of time but it seems like he's been around forever. He is getting fatter by the minute and really smiling and laughing (no sound yet) and just enjoying life. He's still not sleeping through the night, but with one 20 minute feeding around 4 I really can't complain. Especially when he goes right back to sleep.

Look at that belly!
